Cornell Club of Ithaca 2022 Annual Meeting

June 28, 2022 5:30 pm. The meeting recording is available here.

Black History Month with Cornell Club of Ithaca, Cornell MOSAIC, and the Cornell Black Alumni Association

On February 26, 2022, Dr. Gerard Aching, Professor of Africana and Romance Studies at Cornell, gave a highly engaging presentation about the history of the Railroad and two projects aiming to describe the experiences of freedom seekers in this area and others during that time.

The location - St. James AME Zion Church in Ithaca, itself steeped in history - was a perfect venue for these topics. Attendees appreciated the stories of courage about freedom seekers placing their fate in the hands of complete strangers and liberating themselves from slavery.
